There are already three Russian ships near the port of Tartus, waiting to dock.

Currently, the Russian ships Sparta, Spata II and Baltic Leader are in the waters near the Syrian port of Tartus – some of them have not been able to enter the port for several days.

This observation was shared by the journalist of the SeaKrime project Kateryna Yaresko.

According to her, there are already three ships near Tartus that have arrived to remove Russian military property from Syria. “Sparta” (IMO: 9268710) has been in the waters near Syria for the second week. We previously wrote about it in more detail – at the link.

Also nearby is “Sparta II” (IMO: 9160994), which came from Baltiysk and is loaded with empty containers. Not far from the port, the ship Baltic Leader (IMO: 9220639) was spotted, which, according to Yaresko, delivered cargo to Egypt under a Russian military contract and arrived empty.

It is worth noting that the “Baltic Leader” previously entered Syria more freely – this particular vessel is part of the so-called “Syrian Express” and has repeatedly transported weapons through the Bosphorus and Dardanelles straits, violating the Montreux Convention.

Earlier, USM reported that Syria is not allowing ships to evacuate Russian military equipment.
