UDS transported a record amount of cargo since the beginning of the full-scale war
Over 206,000 tons of cargo was transported by PJSC “UDS” in August.
In August 2023, “Ukrainian Danube Shipping” transported more than 206,000 tons of cargo. This is the largest indicator since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the press service of the state-owned enterprise reported.
According to the company, such indicators were achieved due to the modernization of the fleet maintenance system. A new repair area was built at the enterprise and uninterrupted operation of barges was ensured.
The UDS stressed that the company maintains and repairs up to 60 units of the non-self-propelled fleet every month. Currently, the company has almost 200 barges in operation. In September, it is planned to increase the fleet to 205 vessels.
Also, the increase in the volume of shipments is connected with the development of the stevedoring sector and active cooperation with Romanian partners.
At the same time, the increase in volumes is somewhat restrained by the congestion of the Constanta port infrastructure and the shortage of vessels in the UDS, the company emphasized.
