Ukraine and Moldova agreed to strengthen alternative grain export routes

The countries agreed to continue cooperation with partners to strengthen alternative logistics routes and grain export routes.

Acting Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha had a telephone conversation with Moldovan Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi. This was reported by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

The ministers paid special attention to the security situation in the Black Sea. They agreed to continue cooperation with partners to strengthen the stability of alternative logistics routes and grain export routes.

The parties also discussed the bilateral agenda and the next steps on the path to EU accession. The ministers stressed the importance of opening all negotiation clusters.

“We also agreed to maintain close coordination, and I invited Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popsoi to visit Ukraine in the near future,” Sybiga noted.

The conversation took place against the backdrop of the de facto suspension of vessel traffic along the Ukrainian maritime corridor. On the eve, Kyiv initiated an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council on July 27 due to Russian attacks on civilian ships in the Black Sea.
