Ukraine will receive $3 billion from Britain through the G7 mechanism
Great Britain is the first to allocate almost 3 billion dollars to support Ukraine through the G7 mechanism.
This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Yes, with the help of the G7 mechanism, money will be returned from the profits from frozen Russian assets.
“This important step makes Great Britain the first G7 country to contribute to the mechanism for increasing revenues to the budget of Ukraine. Great Britain once again demonstrates leadership and shows itself as a true friend and partner of Ukraine,” the head of state wrote.
The British Treasury confirmed the offer. The department recalled that before this, Ukraine was given 12.8 billion pounds of support since the beginning of the full-scale war.
The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine emphasized that funds will be provided within the framework of the G7 ERA mechanism in the total amount of $50 billion. The money is allocated to support the expenses of the security and defense sector, in particular, the strengthening of anti-aircraft defense, the purchase of necessary military equipment, etc.
It will be recalled that on October 22, the European Parliament voted to provide Ukraine with a loan in the amount of 35 billion euros at the expense of frozen Russian assets.
