Ukrainian wheat exports increased by a third, barley by two-thirds


Since the beginning of the season, Ukrainian farmers have exported 22.4 million tons of grain, which is 15% more than in the same period last year.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and the State Customs Service, as of January 8, the volume of grain exports has increased significantly compared to the previous marketing year. This is reported by Latifundist.

The main export indicators are as follows:

• Corn: 10.16 million tons (-1.5%);

• Wheat: 9.97 million tons (+28% compared to last year);

• Barley: 1.97 million tons (+71%);

• Rye: 10.8 thousand tons (almost 11 times more).

About 62% of wheat from the volume agreed in the memorandum between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and grain traders, signed on September 3, 2024, has already been exported. At that time, the total volume of wheat exports was set at 16.2 million tons, but this figure is planned to be revised in January.

In addition to cereals, flour exports amounted to 38.1 thousand tons, which is 36% less than in the same period last year.

Recently, USM wrote that Ukraine increased exports to Africa by 15% over the year.
