USAID will provide UAH 367 million to support the Ukrainian agricultural sector
The USAID Program for Agrarian and Rural Development will provide UAH 367 million to support the processing of grain, oil and leguminous crops in Ukraine.
The purpose of the program is to improve the access of small producers of agricultural products to facilities for processing and processing of grain, oil and leguminous crops into food, fodder, industrial products and biofuel. This was reported by press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
Support from USAID will help farmers produce value-added products and will ensure the expansion of sales channels and markets.
USAID expects that as a result of the implementation of these projects, at least two new grain finishing/processing technologies will be introduced, as well as an increased number of jobs. At the same time, new processing enterprises created within the project will be able to achieve planned production indicators.
At the same time, processing enterprises that are already in operation will be able to increase production volumes by 20%, expand the range of production by 25% and increase sales volumes by 10% in the first year.
The funds will be provided within twenty projects, with a term of implementation of up to two years. It is expected that the amount of each sub-grant will be from 10 million to 36 million UAH and will be discussed individually. The deadline for submitting concepts for the 1st stage is May 15, 2023.
