Kernel attracted 1 million tons of commercial grain to its own elevators

In the 2026 fiscal year, Kernel elevators accepted more than 1 million tons of commercial grain for the first time after switching to an open model of work with agricultural producers.

USM reported this to the company’s press service.

Kernel explains that the record figure was achieved after changing the elevator business model. Previously, elevators worked mainly as an internal service unit, but now they have become a separate commercial direction, open to a wider range of agricultural producers.

The company also notes that all grain operations are digitalized – from the electronic queue to reception, storage and shipment. This should ensure traceability of grain movement and reduce the risks of manual intervention in operational processes.

“Today, a farmer needs not just a free warehouse, but a guarantee of quick reception, legally clear conditions and predictable logistics. It is thanks to the change in approaches to partnership and the willingness to share our own infrastructure that we were able to attract record volumes of grain,” said Serhiy Shcherban, head of the storage department at Kernel.

According to him, in the current season, customers will pay only the objective increase in the price of electricity, while the company will bear the increase in other operating costs.

Kernel adds that the development of the commercial elevator direction is part of a long-term strategy to create an open agricultural ecosystem for small and medium-sized producers. The company plans to further expand farmers’ access to its infrastructure, logistics services, and market tools.

Earlier it became known that Kernel sold 5.5 million liters of oil in the Netherlands since 2024.
