UZ earned UAH 1.7 billion for the use of seized wagons and containers of russian federation


“Ukrzaliznytsia” received UAH 1.7 billion in revenue from the commercial use of seized railway cars and containers belonging to russian and Belarusian companies.

The wagons were seized and handed over to the UZ for responsible storage with the right of commercial use. The company can use the received funds for any needs that arise during the conduct of business activities, the Bureau of Economic Security (BEB) reported in a press release dated February 20.

“Interfax-Ukraine” notes that last year BEB called the lower level of UZ income from such activities – UAH 1.3 billion.

As a reminder, within the framework of the criminal proceedings, under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Federal Security Service identified 17,800 wagons that directly or indirectly belonged to subjects of the Republic of Belarus and russian federation, of which 1,625 wagons contained goods and material values.
