Zaluzhnyi discussed countering the Russian shadow fleet with the IMO Secretary General

Valeriy Zaluzhnyi presented his credentials to IMO Secretary General Arsenio Dominguez and discussed further cooperation.
Ukrainian Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Valeriy Zaluzhnyi presented his credentials to IMO Secretary General Arsenio Dominguez. He reported this on the Telegram channel.
During the meeting, key issues of cooperation between Ukraine and IMO were discussed, as well as the joint fight against illegal maritime operations, in particular the so-called shadow fleet.
“I presented my credentials to the Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization Arsenio Dominguez. We talked about cooperation, the fight against the “shadow fleet” and Ukraine’s needs for the development of its maritime potential,” Valeriy Zaluzhnyi said.
Zaluzhny emphasized that, despite the difficulties, Ukraine remains a maritime state and continues to develop its maritime potential even in these difficult times.
“Ukraine is a maritime state. And we are staying on course, even in a storm,” the Permanent Representative concluded.
As USM previously wrote, the IMO discussed the problem of illegal registration of ships.
