A Russian who was exporting Ukrainian titanium to the Russian Federation for the production of Kalibr missiles was detained in the Dnipro
The security service detained the “right-hand man” of the Russian oligarch, who managed the export of titanium from Ukraine for the production of Russian Kalibr sea-based missiles.
The SBU detained Russian Oleksandr Fedoseyev in Dnipro, who is the “right-hand man” of the sanctioned billionaire Mykhailo Shelkov, the agency reported .
According to the SBU materials, these persons organized a scheme of hidden export of titanium raw materials from Ukraine to the Russian Federation. There it was used in the military industry, including for the production of MiG-35 and SU-35 combat aircraft, Ka-52 helicopters, as well as Kalibr missiles, which Russia regularly fires at Ukraine from its ships in the Black Sea.
The detainee’s official position is adviser to the general director of the VSMPO-AVISMA metallurgical corporation, which is owned by a Russian billionaire. It was through her that Shelkov arranged the supply of minerals to the Russian Federation from the deposits of the Demurinskyi mining and beneficiation plant controlled by him in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
On his behalf, Fedoseev arrived in Ukraine before February 24, 2022 to control this illegal business.
According to available data, the organizers of the “scheme” shipped almost 11 tons of minerals with a total value of almost $2 million to Russia.
Fedoseyev was hiding from justice, but the SBU located him and detained him. During the search, a Russian passport and documents with evidence of illegal activities were found in his possession. So far, the court has chosen Fedoseev as a preventive measure in the form of detention. The perpetrator faces up to 8 years in prison.
It will be recalled that earlier the SBU reported the suspicion to the Russian oligarch Mykhailo Shelkov, who supplied Russia with Ukrainian titanium raw materials for the production of Kalibr missiles.
USM also reported that Russia has recently increased the production of Kalibr missiles by 3-4 times.
Before the full-scale invasion, the Russian Federation produced approximately 10 Kalibr and X-101 missiles per month. Currently, the Russians produce approximately 30-40 missiles, depending on the type.
