Ukraine exported 2.4 million tons of cargo through the Danube in August
August exports through Danube ports totaled 2.4 million tons.
In August, Ukraine exported 2.4 million tons of cargo by sea and river transport. The entire volume of shipments was realized through the Danube ports, write Spike Brokers.
Freight rates for river and sea transport remained at a consistently high level. Seasonal demand was supported by the activity of shipments of the early grain group.
At the same time, analysts noted that Russia’s attacks on port infrastructure, although damaging to the Ukrainian economy, did not create significant obstacles to exports through Danube river ports.
Currently, the market rates for transportation by water are:
• Izmail-Constanza — 40-45€ (1-3 thousand tons);
• Ismail-Tarragona (Spain) — 72-75€ (9-10 thousand tons);
• Ismail-Valencia (Spain) — 72-75€ (9-10 thousand tons);
• Constanta-Tarragona — €17-20 (25-35 thousand tons) and €12-15 (55-65 thousand tons).
