The transit of Ukrainian agricultural products through EU countries decreased by 3-4 times

Ukraine has reduced the volume of transportation of agricultural products in transit through the territories of neighboring countries by 3-4 times.

People’s deputy and member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy Dmytro Solomchuk told about this, writes Ukrinform.

“There are transit deliveries through countries that are our neighbors and that have blocked deliveries. They are not in the same volume as they used to be, because customs checks take a lot of time if they are transported by car. Carriages are also inspected for a long time. Transit exports through the western borders are 3-4 times smaller than they could be,” said Dmytro Solomchuk.

He reminded that Ukraine still has not resumed the export of wheat, corn, sunflower and rapeseed to the domestic markets of five countries — members of the European Union, which was banned by the European Commission until September 15, 2023.
