ARMA put Medvedchuk’s arrested yacht up for sale
The Agency for Search and Asset Management has put up for sale the arrested elite yacht of oligarch Viktor Medvedchuk.
On Wednesday, March 20, a meeting of the Commission on Competitive Selection of Legal Entities, which implements the sale of seized assets, was held, АРМА reported.

For the first time in the history of Ukraine and the practice of ARMA, a tender was launched for the sale of seized assets located abroad.
“Today we are experiencing a truly historic event not only for ARMA, but also for Ukraine. We are putting up for sale a valuable asset – a yacht belonging to Viktor Medvedchuk,” said Grigol Katamadze, head of the competition commission.
Commission member Stanislav Petrov noted that this is the first and far from the last arrested asset that will serve and work for the good of Ukraine.
It is also important that ARMA has officially received documents from the Croatian law enforcement and judicial authorities regarding the absence of any other encumbrances, restrictions or civil agreements that could prevent ARMA from selling the said asset.

Legal entities that meet a number of criteria can participate in the competition. Among the main ones:

• not to have among the ultimate beneficiaries owners as part of the founders of representatives of the aggressor countries (Russian Federation, Republic of Belarus);
• have at least three years of experience in organizing the sale of assets such as yachts at the international level on electronic auctions based on the auction principle;

The winner will be announced on April 23, 2024.
In February of this year, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the sale of the seized yacht. The Agency for Search and Asset Management (ARMA) was entrusted with the implementation.
At the end of January 2024, the District Court of the city of Split (Croatia) decided to transfer the “Royal Romance” yacht to Ukraine. It is known that the ship requires annual costs of $15-20 million.
Previously, USM reported that in order to realize the arrested yacht of Viktor Medvedchuk, who is suspected of treason, it was necessary to make changes to the legislation.
