Russia completes dismantling of tanker that sank in Kerch Strait

The Russian authorities announced the completion of the dismantling of the stern of the tanker Volgoneft-239, which sank in the Kerch Strait.
The Russian Ministry of Transport reported the completion of the dismantling, writes Crimea.Realii.
“Specialists have completed work on processing the stern of the vessel, which ran aground near Cape Panagia,” the report says.
It took more than a month to completely cut the tanker apart. First, the so-called gangway was cut, after which the entire superstructure of the tanker was dismantled, and then the underwater part of the Volgoneft-239 was processed.
The department added that the last fragments of the tanker are being taken from the shore for smelting.
Recall that on December 15, two Russian tankers sank in the Kerch Strait. The tanker Volgoneft-212, which was carrying 4 tons of oil, was the first to suffer an accident. An hour later, a storm hit the Volgoneft-239.
