Shipbuilding plant on fire in Russia: there are casualties (video)


The Onega Shipbuilding Plant is on fire in Petrozavodsk (Russia). It is already known that there are victims as a result of the fire.

The 4th workshop, which contains fuel tanks, is currently on fire, Russian media report.

Previously, the cause of the fire was the explosion of a gas cylinder. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Republic of Karelia did not disclose the causes and circumstances of the fire at the plant, but noted that 41 rescuers and 12 pieces of equipment are working at the site.

Three victims are known. Two of them are in serious condition.

The Onega Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant is located on the shores of Lake Onega in Petrozavodsk, the capital of the Republic of Karelia. The enterprise is located at the intersection of Russia’s main waterways, connecting the Baltic, White, Caspian, Azov and Black Seas.

USM previously reported that Russia’s Transneft suspended operations at the Novorossiysk berth for 90 days after an inspection.
