The invaders increased the number of “Kalibr” missiles on submarines

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry reports an increase in the missile threat: Russian submarines may now carry six missiles instead of four.

The Russian invaders are increasing the combat potential of the submarine fleet in the Black Sea. The number of “Kalibr” cruise missiles in service with one of the submarines has increased from four to six, said Dmytro Pletenchuk, spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy.

“As for the water area, there were basically no changes. They did not withdraw additional units, although the dispersal of the naval forces was in Novorossiysk. Most likely, they expected some troubles, but this is an assumption. The fact is that they dispersed. Now there is one carrier — a submarine. As you can see, the statistics now look a little different. Previously, you saw a submarine with four possible “Kalibrs”, now there are already six possible missiles,” Pletenchuk said on the air of the telethon.

He also noted that the Russians are currently focusing on submarines, as they are safer. The Russian Black Sea Fleet has three Project 636 combat submarines, and another submarine, the Alrosa, performs patrol functions but is not a missile carrier. As USM wrote, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously stated that Russia was refusing a ceasefirein order to maintain the ability to strike from the sea.
