“Naftogaz” contracts another 100 million cubic meters of LNG from ORLEN


The volume of liquefied gas supplies from Poland to Ukraine has reached 300 million cubic meters — the resource will arrive from the USA via the terminal in Swinoujscie.

“Naftogaz” has signed a third agreement with the Polish company ORLEN for the supply of 100 million cubic meters of liquefied natural gas. This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian company.

The new contract was announced during the annual ORLEN GAS Meeting, which is one of the key events in the field of energy security in the region.

“This supply further strengthens the energy partnership between our companies and contributes to ensuring a reliable resource for Ukrainian consumers. We are already preparing for the next heating season, and such contracts are an important part of our strategy to diversify supplies and guarantee the country’s energy stability,” commented Roman Chumak, Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz.

The total volume of imported resources within the framework of this partnership reached 300 million cubic meters. m. The gas is imported from the US, regasified at a terminal in Swinoujscie, Poland, and transported to Ukraine through Poland’s gas transmission system.

“The new agreement with Naftogaz underlines ORLEN’s growing role as a natural gas supplier in the region. Our partnership significantly strengthens Ukraine’s energy security thanks to ORLEN’s diversified supply portfolio and the efficient use of Polish gas transmission infrastructure. We remain committed to supporting Ukraine,” ORLEN Vice President Robert Soszczynski stressed.

Meanwhile, as USM reported, the European Union is considering banning new contracts for LNG supplies from Russia.
