Ukrainians are suspected of undermining the Nord Stream pipeline: among them is a diver with a Ukrainian record

In Germany, arrest warrants have been issued for six Ukrainians on suspicion of blowing up the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines.
This is stated in a joint investigation by ARD, Süddeutsche Zeitung and Die Zeit.
According to the investigation, seven people were involved in the operation in 2022. To get to the place where the explosives were planned to be planted, they used the yacht Andromeda. In total, there were four divers on the ship, the person responsible for the explosives, the captain and the arrested Serhiy K.
The media name the names of six Ukrainians for whom the prosecutor’s office has issued an arrest warrant, including Serhiy K., who was previously detained in Rimini, where he came to rest with his family. He is 49 years old, and in the past he was an employee of the SBU.
Another suspect is Volodymyr Zh., a diving instructor, an arrest warrant for him was issued back in 2024. At that time, he lived in Poland, but Warsaw refused to extradite him and stated that saboteurs “should be rewarded” for undermining the Nord Stream pipeline, not arrested. After that, he managed to leave the EU territory.
The journalists also noted that the crew of the yacht included: Vsevolod K., who has been considered missing in action in the war with Russia since 2024, Yuriy T. from Odesa, the captain of the vessel, Valeria T., a 40-year-old diver who set a Ukrainian record for deep-sea diving (104 meters), for comparison: the Nord Stream pipelines are located at a depth of approximately 80 meters, as well as diver Yevgeny U.
In particular, it is known that Yevgeny U., Valeria T. and Volodymyr Zhuravlev taught at the same diving school in Kyiv.
Also involved in the sabotage is 41-year-old businessman Rustem A., whose company paid for the yacht.
