Ports of Mykolaiv region are ready for work, but access to the sea is blocked due to the occupation of Kinburn

Due to the Kinburn Spit controlled by Russian troops, sea access is practically blocked.

The ports of the Mykolaiv region are fully ready for work, but access to the sea remains limited due to the occupation of the Kinburn Spit. This was stated by the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Kim in an interview with “Novyny.LIVE”.

The Russian army is blocking sea logistics to the Black Sea. Because of this, difficulties arise with the resumption of port activity.

Kim also said that many port industry workers moved to work in the ports of Odessa, where there is a stable load. In Mykolaiv, port workers were idle. They were paid approximately 70% of their salaries, which amounted to about 28 thousand hryvnias out of the usual 40 thousand.

The head of the region is confident that after resolving the issue of access to the sea, the ports can significantly increase their throughput capacity.

“We can triple the throughput capacity and also triple the efficiency of the agricultural sector. The land is no longer “nobody’s” — the market is working, auctions are taking place, there will be competition and yields will increase,” Kim emphasized.

As USM reported the day before, shares of Ukrainian agricultural holdings may increase after the end of the active phase of the war.
