First footage of Long Neptune missile launch appears: they likely hit port infrastructure in Novorossiysk

On Friday, November 14, it became known about the launch of Long Neptune missiles, which were probably used during the strikes on Novorossiysk.

Exclusive footage of the launch was released by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, writes Militarnyi.

The head of state reported that this night Ukrainian soldiers successfully used Long Neptunes against designated targets on Russian territory.

In particular, it is known that the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were armed with new launchers.

Presumably, these missiles were used on the night of November 14 during the strikes on the “Sheskharis” oil terminal in Novorossiysk and Russian air defense positions, where eyewitnesses recorded a series of explosions and large-scale foci of ignition.

As a reminder, the main target was the Sheskharis transshipment complex, a strategic facility of Transneft, through which a significant part of Urals oil is shipped. Together with the Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal, this complex ensures the export of over 2 million barrels of oil per day – about 5% of world sea supplies.

Reference. The mass of the warhead of the updated Long Neptune missile reaches 260 kg, which is 110 kg more than that of the anti-ship modification.

The flight range has increased significantly and now reaches approximately 1,000 km in the version for the Neptune-D complex, compared to 280 km in the previous version. The dimensions of the missile have also been changed: the length is 6 meters without an accelerator, the diameter of the body is 50 centimeters.
