There is still no electricity supply in the Odesa port: stevedoring companies operate from generators

As of December 18, after a large-scale attack by the Russian Federation, the situation with the provision of electricity in the ports of Great Odesa remains difficult.
This was reported by the operator of the port stations of the Central Railway Company during a meeting of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia with market participants, writes Elevatorist.
According to him, there is still no power supply in the Odessa port, and there is no information yet on the timing of its restoration and possible limits. In particular, all stevedoring companies of the Odesa port operate from generators.
UZ added that the five-day stoppage of cargo acceptance in the ports has changed the structure of grain transportation for export. The share of wagons heading towards the western border crossings has increased to 12%, while in the direction of the ports it has decreased to 88%. Usually these indicators are 8% and 92%, respectively.
The Central Railway Company branch reported that cargo had not been exported from the ports for almost a week – everything was loaded, but not unloaded. Currently, only the number of wagons that can be guaranteed to be provided are being put up for auction.
“We do not plan to provide and put up the excess fleet yet, since more than 50% of the working fleet is in a loaded state,” the Central Railway Transport Office noted.
As previously reported by USM, after the latest Russian attacks on Odesa, part of the port cluster was completely left without electricity, and the other part operates only on limited generator power.
