A criminal group stole a shipment of sunflower seeds during transportation to the port of Odesa region

The court is considering the case of the disappearance of more than 47 tons of sunflower seeds during transportation to the port of Odesa region.
This concerns more than 47 tons of grain, which was seized by criminals using a scheme with a change of delivery route and forged documents, writes Intent with reference to the decision of the Belyaevskyi District Court of Odesa region.
According to the investigation, in December, the police received a statement from the logistics company Ambra Trans. It reported that a group of individuals fraudulently seized the property of the company Hold Cargo-Marin – a batch of sunflower seeds.
The investigation established that in August 2025, the company purchased more than 125 tons of sunflower seeds, which were stored in a warehouse in Nova Odesa under a contract with the company Rybatskyi Dim.
For the transportation of the cargo, a contract for transportation to the Black Sea Commercial Sea Port was concluded. However, during the movement of the trucks, the route was changed without the consent of the customer. Instead of the port, the transport was sent to the village of Yosypivka, Odesa region, where the grain was unloaded on the territory of the warehouse complex on December 17.
After that, the seeds were reloaded into other trucks and taken to another warehouse. According to the investigation, such actions were part of a pre-planned fraudulent scheme aimed at seizing the grain with its subsequent sale for cash.
As a result, the attackers seized 47.6 tons of sunflower. The investigators recognized the vehicles involved in the scheme as material evidence. The court granted the investigation’s request and seized one of the vehicles used during the implementation of the scheme.
