Russia is increasing production of naval drones for attacks on Ukrainian ports

The Russian Federation is developing the production of Triton naval drones, which can reach speeds of up to 100 km/h and can be used both for attacks on civilian shipping and on the port infrastructure of Ukraine.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing its own sources in military intelligence.

It is noted that the Russians plan to switch to the tactics of massively using them against Ukrainians.

The GUR paid special attention to the development of the Prosvet-1 autonomous underwater vehicle, which is being created to counter Ukrainian underwater unmanned systems.

They believe that this indicates attempts by the Russian Federation to form an echeloned underwater defense.

The intelligence notes that among the most likely scenarios for the use of this device are the protection of fleet bases, patrolling coastal waters, use as communication repeaters, and potential attempts to influence the shipping and port infrastructure of Ukraine.

Ukrainian Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk told reporters in a comment that Russian developments in the field of naval drones are an attempt to recreate the Ukrainian approach, which has proven its effectiveness in the fight against the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

Separately, it is noted that there is a potential threat to ships of other states on international shipping routes.

Earlier, USM said that Ukrainian naval drones could become part of the Polish defense strategy.
