Defense Intelligence identified 31 more ships of the “shadow fleet

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has published information on 31 vessels involved in the transportation of oil and gas from the Russian Federation.

These vessels are engaged in the transportation of Russian oil and LNG, which provides export revenues that are critically important for the aggressor state, the Defense Intelligence reported.

The update includes vessels that serve key players in the Russian oil and gas sector and the largest taxpayers in this industry, in particular:

• oil tankers that transport crude oil and petroleum products in the interests of Rosneft, Surgutneftegaz, and Tatneft;

• gas carriers that transport Russian LNG from both the sanctioned medium-tonnage Gazprom LNG Portovaya project and the Yamal LNG project, which is still not under full restrictions by partner countries.

The GUR called on partners to increase sanctions pressure on the Russian energy sector. Coordinated and systemic restrictions can deprive Russia of the financial base for waging war and accelerate the onset of real peace.

Earlier, USM reported that the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense had exposed another 66 ships of the “shadow fleet” of the Russian Federation, Iran and Venezuela.
