Russian oil companies may declare force majeure due to attacks on Baltic ports

Force majeure may be declared due to non-fulfillment of contracts for supplies to India and China.

Formally, force majeure is needed to avoid fines for disruption of supplies, writes Reuters.

There are no official estimates yet, but according to preliminary data, the reduction in exports may amount to about 20–25% from the ports of the Baltic Sea over the next 2–3 months.

This means not only a temporary drop in volumes, but also potential disruptions in logistics and the redistribution of Russian oil flows to alternative routes.

As previously reported by USM, on the night of March 26, drones attacked one of the largest Russian refineries.
