Ukraine wants to create a single Danube Administration

Ukraine considers the Danube region as a key alternative to sea routes and has discussed the development of a corresponding cluster with the World Bank.
This was reported by Deputy Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Andriy Kashuba.
According to him, during a working meeting with the World Bank representative Antonio Nunez, the Ukrainian side emphasized the development of the Danube region as a strategic logistics direction. This involves the formation of a full-fledged Danube cluster, which should combine port infrastructure, rail and road connections, as well as production facilities with an orientation towards the markets of the European Union.
Among the key elements of the concept are the creation of a single administration to coordinate the work of the region, the introduction of tariff incentives, support for the national fleet and the development of industrial parks.
The parties also discussed the issue of increasing the resilience of port infrastructure in war conditions and preparing for post-war recovery. They separately discussed draft law No. 14344, which is one of the indicators of the Ukraine Facility program. The document provides for the adaptation of Ukrainian legislation in the field of maritime and inland waterway transport to EU standards.Earlier, Ukrport and the European Commission discussed the Danube Corridor and “solidarity paths”.
