Russia says Israel ‘came under pressure’ from Ukraine over stolen grain ship

Russia has accused the Israeli authorities of “causing pressure” from Ukraine in a dispute over a grain shipment that was not allowed to be delivered to the port of Haifa.
This is reported by Reuters.
In its statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry rejected information about the origin of the grain, calling it “absurd and unfounded statements made by the Ukrainian side.”
The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that it condemns the decision of the Israeli importing company not to allow the grain to be unloaded at the port of Haifa.
“Moscow regrets this step, clearly taken under pressure from Kyiv,” the statement said. “This contradicts the Israeli authorities’ stated commitment to supporting Russian-Israeli economic cooperation and threatens the food security of Israel itself.”
It will be recalled, that Israeli importers have offered Ukraine a mechanism for checking grain from the occupied territories.
Earlier, USM reported that the bulk carrier “Panormitis”, which attempted to transport over 25,000 tons of grain to Haifa, is leaving the country and heading in an unknown direction.
The bulk carrier was heading to Haifa with a cargo of 6,201.56 tons of wheat and 19,043.73 tons of barley from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
Later, it became known that an Israeli importing company refused to unload grain stolen by Russia in Ukraine in Haifa due to the risk of international sanctions. Ukraine also sent Israel a package of documents for the arrest of a Russian ship with stolen Ukrainian grain.
