The Odesa branch of the USPA is negotiating humanitarian medical aid

The Odesa branch of the State Enterprise “USPA” was visited by representatives of the international humanitarian organization Project HOPE Ukraine in Ukraine.

This was reported by the Odesa Sea Port Administration.

The Odessa branch of the USPA was visited by representatives of Project HOPE Ukraine, led by Kane Cortellino, program director of the humanitarian program “Emergency Assistance for the Population Affected by the Conflict in Ukraine” (EASAP), which is implemented with the support of the United States Government.

The initiative to establish cooperation with the international humanitarian organization came from the management of the Odesa branch of the State Enterprise “USPA”, which had previously appealed to Project HOPE with a request to consider the possibility of providing charitable medical assistance to ensure the proper level of medical support for port workers during martial law.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the field of medical support for port workers and providing charitable assistance to update the material and technical base of the MSF.

During the visit, Project HOPE representatives got acquainted with the priority needs of the medical and sanitary unit, the work of the MSC during the martial law period, and its technical capabilities.

“During martial law, the load on the medical and sanitary unit of the port has significantly increased. Our doctors provide assistance to port employees and ship crews around the clock, conduct examinations and medical check-ups. Today, it is especially important to provide people with modern diagnostics and the opportunity to promptly receive medical care. We are grateful to international partners for their support and willingness to help the port industry of Ukraine,” commented Vladyslav Lytvyn, Deputy Head of the Odesa Sea Port Administration.

Reference. Project HOPE is an international humanitarian organization in the field of health care, operating in more than 25 countries around the world. In Ukraine, the organization implements programs of medical, humanitarian, and psychological assistance.

Earlier, USM reported that the USPA special fleet was involved in eliminating the consequences of shelling in the port of Chornomorsk.
