Ukraine resumes corn exports to Algeria for the first time since 2023

Ukraine has sent a cargo of corn to Algeria for the first time since 2023. As part of the cooperation, four ships with 122 thousand tons of grain were shipped.
In the 2025/26 season, the agricultural holding “Nibulon” for the first time supplied Ukrainian corn to the Algerian state company ONAB, the company reported.
As part of the cooperation, four ships with a total volume of 122 thousand tons of grain were shipped. This is more than 80% of the total volume of Ukrainian corn purchased by Algeria in the current season.
Thus, Ukraine has resumed corn supplies to Algeria for the first time since 2023.
Algeria is the largest country in North Africa by area. According to USDA estimates, in recent years it has imported from 4.7 to 5.4 million tons of corn annually, mainly from Argentina and Brazil.
Cooperation with ONAB became possible thanks to the direct participation of “Nibulon” in Algerian state tenders. For the company, this was an important step in expanding the presence of Ukrainian agricultural products in the markets of North Africa.
USM previously reported that the court recognized the losses of Nibulon and Agroton in the occupied Luhansk region at more than 6 billion UAH.
