Ukraine resumes sea exports of urea for the first time in seven years

Ukraine has resumed sea deliveries of urea, a highly effective mineral fertilizer, for the first time in seven years.
The first batch was shipped via the port of Chornomorsk to buyers in the Mediterranean region, Ostchem reported.
The total volume of deliveries is about 21 thousand tons. The main export destinations are Italy and Turkey.
Among the buyers of Ukrainian urea are the American company Nitron Group and the South Korean Samsung C&T Corporation.
The company explained that urea exports by sea are being resumed due to the gradual stabilization of logistics chains and increased interest of international traders in Ukrainian products.
At the same time, Ostchem continues to partially supply urea to European industrial consumers via land routes.
The company also reported negotiations on new export contracts with international traders and industrial consumers.
USM previously reported that Ukraine has resumed corn exports to Algeria for the first time since 2023.
