A tanker chartered by an American company was attacked by a UAV near Novorossiysk

The tanker Yasa Polaris, chartered by the American energy company Chevron, was attacked by a drone near Novorossiysk.
According to Reuters, the tanker was hit on July 7 near the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) oil terminal in the Novorossiysk area.
“All crew members are safe and are on site. There are no visible hull damage reports. There are no reports of pollution or environmental impact at this time. Our vessel has left the area,” Yasa Tanker (a subsidiary of the Turkish holding Yasa Holding) said.
Chevron also commented on the incident. The company said it was aware of what had happened and that the crew was safe. The vessel was drifting near the terminal at the time of the attack, and there was no cargo on board.
Reuters also writes that the oil company Tengizchevroil, led by Chevron, is the main exporter of CPC Blend oil produced at the Tengiz field in Kazakhstan. The oil is delivered to a terminal near Novorossiysk for further transshipment onto ships.
