Damaged tanker BANDA raised from aground in Turkey

Turkish services have lifted the 238-meter tanker BANDA, which ran aground on the Black Sea coast near the Bosphorus a few days ago.

This is reported by Turkish media.

The operation was carried out after an underwater inspection of the hull by divers from the Turkish Coast Guard (KEGM).

The rescue vessel NENE HATUN, the KEGM-4 boat, the KURTARMA-8 and SARK tugs, as well as ship-lifting specialists were involved in the work.

Recall that, according to the SBU, BANDA was part of the Russian “shadow fleet” and transported Russian oil from the ports of Ust-Luga, Kerch, Novorossiysk and Nakhodka. The attack on BANDA was carried out on July 14 approximately 70 nautical miles southwest of Novorossiysk. After that, the rescue and towing operation lasted about five weeks, and in the second half of August the damaged ship was delivered to the Istanbul area.

The tanker “Grace Romavictor”, previously damaged by a drone, ran aground in the Black Sea.
