Russia announced a reduction in inspections of Ukrainian vessels in Istanbul
Since October 4, russia plans to reduce the number of inspections of vessels with Ukrainian grain in Istanbul.
All parties to the Istanbul Agreements were informed about this by representatives of russian federation in the Joint Coordination Center for the “grain corridor”.
According to unconfirmed information, representatives of russian federation in the Joint Coordination Center for the work of the “grain corridor” informed all parties to the Istanbul Agreements about this.
So, since October 4, russia plans to reduce the number of vessel inspections to 12 per day. Please note: in order to avoid a large crowding of vessels, it is necessary to carry out at least 25 inspections per day.
In Istanbul on October 2 and 3, the number of inspections of the ships with Ukrainian food has already decreased to 15 per day.
The reduction in the number of inspections means that the three Black Sea ports in Ukraine — Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdennyi — will operate at a maximum of 50% of their capacity.
Shipowners and grain exporters will incur serious costs for vessel delays. As a result, prices for Ukrainian grain will rise. There will also be large-scale traffic jams in the Turkish Bosphorus and Dardanelles straits.
We would like to remind, that the validity period of the “grain agreement” expires in November. But russia has probably decided to create obstacles to Ukrainian exports already now.
It is worth noting, that Western sanctions do not apply to russian grain, and the aggressor country has free grain trade without any checks and delays. Russian exports do not suffer from sanctions pressure, so the decision to reduce inspections of Ukrainian vessels is a diversion and an attempt to intensify the economic crisis in Ukraine and in the world. Not to mention the unimpeded export of grain stolen in Ukraine through the ports of the occupied territories.
