The State Emergency Service received underwater robots-minesweepers

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine received 8 underwater demining robots from the Nova Poshta logistics company.

Later, the company plans to hand over 12 more underwater robotic minesweepers to the State Emergency Service.

The cost of all ordered robots is UAH 5 million, said Olena Plakhova, the company’s development director.

Thanks to minesweeper robots, pyrotechnics will neutralize ammunition that remained at the bottom of reservoirs after active hostilities in the Mykolaiv region.

Demining robots detect explosive objects in reservoirs and transmit the exact coordinates of their location to sappers.

With the help of a special “robot arm”, the device can move the ammunition or place a detonator next to it to later neutralize it. The robot is equipped with VR glasses, thanks to which the miner sees what is happening underwater and directs the device in the right direction.

In parallel, “Nova poshta” led the process of developing its own Ukrainian robot-minesweeper. The company took over the financial and technical directions, as well as the search and attraction of partners.
