Ukraine presented Neptune anti-ship missiles to the UAE

Ukraine presented missile systems of its own production to the United Arab Emirates. Among them are Neptune anti-ship missiles.

Last week, at the international arms exhibition IDEX-2023, the Ukrainian company “Luch” presented models of the Neptune and Vilkha missile systems, as well as the newest anti-tank missile system “Skif-M”. The company announced this on Facebook.

As of February 24 last year, KB “Luch” had a significant portfolio of export orders with the countries of the Middle East and North Africa – UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Morocco, Jordan. The company maintains constant contact with customers and receives words of support and respect for all Ukrainian gunsmiths and defenders of Ukraine.

Specialists of the design bureau held a series of negotiations with companies from the USA, Great Britain, France, Turkey, Poland and other allies, which are now helping the company to improve missile systems and increase production volumes.

“According to one respected general of the Middle Eastern army, this year the missile systems of KB Luch were able to become a real game changer in the confrontation with Russia.

But in our opinion, the bravery of the Ukrainian defenders really plays a decisive role,” Luch said.

R-360 “Neptun” is a Ukrainian-made anti-ship cruise missile. It was developed at the Kyiv Design Bureau “Luch” in 2010-2020. In 2020, the RK-360MC “Neptun” coastal missile complex with the R-360 missile was adopted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Neptune” is designed to destroy enemy ships with a displacement of up to 5,000 tons. The range of the missile is up to 280 km (or up to 300 km, according to some data), the weight of the warhead is 150 kg. The missile has a subsonic speed of 900 km/h, can fly at extremely low altitudes (several meters above sea level) and maneuver during flight.

“Neptune” can be used from ship-based, land-based and air-based platforms. At first, Lan type boats were considered as a ship platform for missiles, but since 2018 – Vespa type boats.

It will be recalled that on April 14, 2022, the Ukrainian military attacked the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy, the missile cruiser Moskva, with two Neptune missiles. As a result of the successful attack, the enemy ship went to the bottom
