A survey motor boat was transferred to the Ukrainian Navy
In the city of Berdyansk, a solemn ceremony for the inclusion of the survey motor boat “Dmytro Chubar” in the Naval Forces of Ukraine was carried out.
The motor boat will carry out tasks to meet the needs of the Ukrainian Navy – along with other ships, in the waters of the Azov Sea. This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Navy.
“Dmytro Chubar” – survey motor boat of project 1462; built in 1984 at the shipyard “Krasny Moryak” in Rostov-on-Don. The initial purpose of the motor boat is the delivery of ship crews, workers with tools, provision of ships in the roadstead, and the like. Initially it had the name “Raidovy-18”, but later the boat was renamed in honor of the native of Berdyansk, Hero of the Soviet Union, Major Dmitry Chubar.
In the period from 1985 to 1992, the boat was owned by the State Enterprise “ASSC MMF USSR”. From 1992 to 2021 she was owned by the State Enterprise “Berdyansk Commercial Sea Port”. On February 2nd, 2021, the boat was handed over to the Naval Forces of Ukraine.
Boat dimensions: length – 23.15 meters, width – 6.24 meters, draft – 1.85 meters.
