About 400 mines can drift in the Black Sea

There may be about 400 drifting sea mines in the Black Sea. It is impossible to determine their exact number now.

The exact number of mines in the Black Sea is difficult to determine, because after the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP, mine-explosive devices were washed into the sea, said Dmytro Pletenchuk, the spokesman of the Navy.

He stated that the Dnipro River was quite densely mined. After the Russian occupiers blew up the hydroelectric power plant, the explosives were washed into the Dnipro-Buzky estuary.

It will be possible to determine the exact amount in the sea only during demining. It can take years.
