Already 500 Ukrainian sailors have received a record book by mail

More than 700 seafarers applied to the Shipping Administration in the first month of the service for obtaining a seafarer’s record book by mail.

As reported by the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, 500 of them have already received documents.

“Earlier, in order to obtain a document containing all the information about the seamen’s work experience, it was necessary to contact the Shipping Administration only in person. Now, to get a seafarer’s record book, it is enough to send a package of necessary documents to a convenient postal operator and pay UAH 245.28 per form,” the ministry said.

10 days are set for the consideration of the application, after which the seafarer receives the document at the address specified in the guarantee letter. The Shipping Administration notifies each seafarer by e-mail about all stages of the processing of the application.

The seafarer’s record books are issued according to the new model, in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Infrastructure dated June 23, 2023 No. 535. The seafarer’s record books of the new model contain a larger number of pages, and the rules for filling in information about the length of service on the ship are simplified.
