Cargill provided a loan of €250 million to Ukraine

The Cabinet of Ministers approved external government borrowing in 2021 by attracting loans. Thus, Ukraine will receive a loan from the American company Cargill Financial Services International, Inc.

This is evidenced by the information of Resolution 1159, published on the government portal. The document states that external government borrowings are carried out this year by attracting loans for a total amount not exceeding €250 million. The loan is provided in accordance with loan agreements between Ukraine and Cargill Financial Services International, Inc. within the limits stipulated by the Law of Ukraine “On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2021”.

Thus, Ukraine will take:

  • a loan for three years at 5.15% per annum;
  • a loan for five years at 5.85% per annum.

It is noted that Ukraine will pay interest on a quarterly basis.

“Repayment and servicing of loans is carried out at the expense of funds provided for by the law on the State Budget of Ukraine for the corresponding year,” – says in the terms of state external borrowing.

Cargill, Inc. is an American food company founded in 1865. Headquartered in Minnetonka, Minnesota.
