Deep-sea ports are crucial for the export of oil from Ukraine

Currently, the production of oil crops is expected to increase in Ukraine. Deep sea ports are required for export.

In the new marketing year, a significant increase in the production of the main types of oilseeds is expected by 18.8%, Stepan Kapshuk, director of the Ukroliyaprom association, told AgroPortal.ua.

According to him, the largest increase in production is predicted for sunflower seeds — by 15%.

“However, one should take into account their significantly smaller transitional balances at the beginning of 2023/24 compared to the beginning of 2022/23. Accordingly, the offer in the 2023/24 MR will be smaller, which requires urgent measures at the government level to create conditions for maximum internal processing and increase the export of products with high added value,” added Stepan Kapshuk.

The director of the association noted that at the same time the issue of exporting sunflower oil through deep-sea ports needs to be resolved.
