Details about Putin’s new $100 million yacht have emerged
Information about another yacht, which may belong to the President of the Russian Federation, Putin, appeared on the Internet. The vessel, named Graceful, is 82 meters long and is valued at approximately $100 million
The yacht has sea and freshwater swimming pools, a helipad, a gym, a cinema room and a dining room with a fireplace. As Ukrinform writes, Graceful also has a government connection, its crew are FSO employees.
The hull of the Graceful yacht, according to the activists, was built at the Sevmash shipyard in Severodvinsk, then the technical equipment and finishing were carried out at the Blohm + Voss shipyard in Hamburg. The yacht was launched in 2014.
Interestingly, in 2022, the yacht Graceful underwent planned repairs at the shipyard in Hamburg, but on January 19 of the same year, the owners of the shipyard received a request to urgently send the vessel to Russia. The ship should be in Hamburg for planned repairs for another year. Probably, in this way they tried to protect the yacht from arrest after February 24, 2022.
Already after the start of the war in Ukraine, Graceful was included in the list of sanctions of the US Treasury Department precisely because it is related to Putin. Despite this, some European countries still continue to supply yacht equipment through intermediary companies.
The formal owner of the yacht was initially an offshore company in the British Virgin Islands, the ultimate beneficiary of which is Putin’s old friend Petro Kolbin. In December 2020, the ship was allegedly sold to another owner, the Argument joint-stock company, whose owners are classified.
