Dredging works started in the port of Chornomorsk
State Enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” (USPA) began dredging in the operational waters of the first basin of the Sukhoi estuary.
The design volume of dredging is about 420 thousand cubic meters of soil. The work is planned to be completed by the end of 2021, the press service of the department reports.
“The main purpose of the reconstruction of the water area of the third stage of the first basin of the Sukhoi estuary up to 15 meters is to ensure conditions for the safe approach of vessels with a deadweight of 100 thousand tons and to increase the volume of cargo handling,” said the Acting Chairman of the State Enterprise “USPA” Olexandr Golodnitsky.
The work is carried out by the state-owned enterprise’s own efforts – using a dredging convoy as part of a Dunay multi-bucket dredger, three scows and an MZ-9 anchor carrier.
