Exports of Ukrainian agricultural products amounted to 5 million tons in January

In January 2025, Ukraine exported 5 million tons of agricultural products, which is 9.7% less than the same indicator of the previous month.

For the third month, there has been a trend towards a decrease in exports, but this is typical for the winter period in the absence of force majeure circumstances, reports the Ukrainian Agrarian Business Club (UCAB).

The structure of product exports in January 2025 was as follows:

• grain crops: 3.5 million tons (corn – 72%, wheat – 26%, barley – 2%). Decrease compared to the previous month: -3%;

• oilseeds – 352 thousand tons (soybean – 63%, rapeseed – 29% and sunflower seeds – 6%). Decrease: -39%;

• vegetable oils – 424.4 thousand tons (sunflower oil – 89% and soybean – 10%). Growth: +1%;

• cake after extraction of vegetable oils – 406.3 thousand tons (sunflower – 67%, soybean – 33%). Decrease: -22%;

• other types of agro-industrial products – 329.5 thousand tons. Decrease: -24%.

“It is worth noting that the export volumes of grain crops and vegetable oils remain approximately at the level of the previous month. Oil crops (-39%) and cake after extraction of vegetable oils (-22%) show a decrease,” the report says.

The UCAB noted that in the current MY, the vast majority of grown agricultural products intended for export have already been exported. In particular, wheat – 64% and corn – 55%. Accordingly, a further slight reduction in export shipments is possible in the coming months.
