Freight rates are decreasing in Ukrainian ports
The water transport market is experiencing a decline in freight rates, which is associated with low activity of major players and the absence of spot orders.
This is reported by analysts at Spike Brokers.
The fall in freight rates has covered all segments, except for barges, which creates new opportunities for shipowners.
In particular, freight rates from Black Sea ports to Egypt, the eastern coast of Italy and Spain have decreased by $1-2. Tariffs for transportation from Izmail ports have also decreased: by $2 to the eastern coast of Italy and by $1 to Turkey.
“At the same time, barge tariffs remain stable, remaining at a low level, which ensures the competitiveness of this type of transport,” the analysts noted.
Market rates for transportation from river ports:
• Izmail – Romania (1-3 thousand tons) – €10
• Izmail – east coast of Italy (5-7 thousand tons) – $32-34
• Izmail – Turkey (5-6 thousand tons) – $27
Market rates for transportation from sea ports:
• Chornomorsk – Egypt (10 thousand tons) – $21-25
• Chornomorsk – east coast of Italy (30-35 thousand tons) – $21-22
• Chornomorsk – east coast of Spain (25-30 thousand tons) – $24-27.
As previously reported by USM, Nibulon sent the first seagoing coaster from the Bessarabskaya branch in the port of Izmail to Turkey.
