Eco-inspectors assessed the damage from the sinking of the ship and the leakage of oil products from it as a result of the Russian shelling.

The damage caused to the environment is estimated at over UAH 28 million, the State Environmental Inspection reports.

Thus, in September 2022, during the shelling of Mykolaiv, the pier of the Mykolaiv Regional Center for Hydrometeorology was destroyed and the Typhoon expedition ship, belonging to the center, partially flooded.

“Clogging of the plot of land with demolition waste, clogging of the Pivdennyi Buh River, and oil products from a sunken ship have entered the water area of the river,” the report says.
