Lithuania denounces the intergovernmental agreement with the Russian Federation on merchant shipping

Lithuania plans to denounce the intergovernmental agreement with the Russian Federation on commercial shipping.

The Ministry of Communications and Transport of Lithuania took the initiative to withdraw the document, rosZMI reports.

“Taking into account the geopolitical situation with continuing violations of international law, as well as taking into account the fact that interstate trade and economic cooperation is practically stopped and impossible, it is expedient to denounce this agreement,” says the government’s submission.

The issue should be considered by the government. If he agrees to denounce the agreement, the document will be sent to parliament for approval.

Previously, USM reported that the defense ministers of Ukraine and Lithuania discussed possible cooperation in the fields of demining and the production of maritime drones.
