Maersk considers investments in Ukraine’s transport sector
The Minister of Economy discussed potential investments in the transport sector with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Maersk.
The meeting took place in Davos, where the World Economic Forum is underway, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine reports.
First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko discussed potential investments in the transport sector of Ukraine with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Maersk Robert Maersk Uggla.
In particular, the official spoke about the progress of privatization in Ukraine and plans to restart public-private partnership.
“Ukraine is currently working on concession projects for some ports. These initiatives are aimed at modernizing transport infrastructure and improving trade logistics,” the minister noted.
As previously reported by USM, in October last year, Maersk launched a new feeder service to the port of Chornomorsk from Egypt.
Prior to this, at the end of May 2024, Maersk launched the first container service to the ports of Great Odesa since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
