More than 100,000 tons of agricultural products were destroyed as a result of attacks on Odesa ports
Russian shelling resulted in damage to more than 300 objects of port infrastructure. In particular, more than 100,000 tons of agricultural products were destroyed.
This became known during a briefing on the operation of the maritime corridor.
The briefing was held on October 16 with the participation of the ministers of the Nordic-Baltic Eight. Deputy Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Timur Tkachenko emphasized the strategic importance of the stable operation of the maritime corridor.
“For our ministry, a critical priority is the smooth operation of the Ukrainian corridor, which ensures food security not only for Ukraine, but also for many countries of the world. Attacks on the port infrastructure resulted in the damage of more than 300 objects and the destruction of more than 100,000 tons of agricultural products,” said Timur Tkachenko.
He also added that the maritime corridor continues to function thanks to the coordinated work of state structures and private operators.
The head of USPA Yuriy Lytvyn also emphasized that Ukrainian ports continue to work despite the constant threat. Since August 2023 alone, more than 2,800 ships have arrived at Ukrainian ports, and 76 million tons of cargo have been handled.
We will remind you that over the past three months, the enemy has carried out almost 60 such attacks on port infrastructure. As a result of shelling, in particular, 22 civilian vessels were damaged.
