More than $53 million will be allocated for the restoration of inland waterways of Ukraine
In general, recovery in the field of transport and logistics in Ukraine was estimated at $2.3 billion.
The Government of Ukraine, together with the World Bank Group, the European Commission and the United Nations, published a report on the updated joint assessment of damages and needs that arose as a result of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Reconstruction reports.
According to the report, direct losses in Ukraine currently reach almost $152 billion. The most affected sectors are housing, transport, trade and industry, energy and agriculture.
The key for Ukraine this year is recovery in the following areas:
• housing and communal services — $3.1 billion;
• transport and logistics — 2.3 billion dollars;
• energy — $2.7 billion;
• social infrastructure — $2.4 billion;
• industry and services — $3.6 billion;
• cross-sectoral priorities — $1.2 billion.
Of the $2.3 billion earmarked for the restoration of transport infrastructure and logistics, the following will be allocated:
• 1 billion 240 million dollars — for road infrastructure,
• 420 million dollars — for railway infrastructure,
• 270 million dollars — for city transport,
• 255 million dollars — for checkpoints,
• 94 million dollars — for the postal service,
• 53 million dollars — for inland waterways,
• 2 million dollars — for aviation.
