More than 557 million from the state budget are planned to be allocated for the station “Akademik Vernadskyi”

The government plans to allocate UAH 557.6 million for conducting scientific research at the Antarctic station “Akademik Vernadskyi”.

This became known from the draft bill on the state budget-2025.

In particular, the explanatory note to the draft law states that among the main priorities of supporting the implementation of scientific and scientific and technical activities in 2025 will be ensuring the study of the environment of the Antarctic region.

It is about ensuring proper conditions for conducting scientific research at the Antarctic station “Akademik Vernadskyi”. For this, the government plans to allocate UAH 557.6 million.

It should be noted that in the project of the state budget of Ukraine for 2025, expenditures on scientific and scientific and technical activities are taken into account in the amount of 14 billion 26 million UAH, of which 10 billion 278 million UAH are allocated to the general fund of the state budget.

As previously reported by USM, there will be more international projects at the “Noospfera” icebreaker and at the “Akademik Vernadskyi” station.
